Power of Presence
Being fully present within each moment of our day helps us to be conscious of how we are being. Remember a lot of the time we are feeling stress unnecessarily because we may not be conscious of how we are being within the moment. If we are practice being present and witnessing what we are experiencing without attaching to it, a lot of unnecessary stress and suffering in your life can be let go of.
So what is Presence?
Presence is being fully connected to the essence of what you are relating to in that moment, in the NOW. World renowed personal development teacher Eckhart Tolle wrote a best selling book called the ‘Power of Now’ which emphasis’s how most of the pain and stress people feel can dissipate by simply being more present within each moment within your life and witnessing the pure aliveness and joy within that moment. If you can witness and feel the natural essence by feeling the aliveness and joy within the moment you cannot experience stress.
You can break-free from stressful patterns with pure PRESENCE
Living in the moment, being present in the NOW helps you to get out of patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which pull you out of living in the moment. When you are fully present and living in the moment you begin to let go of the attachment to unnecessary stress generally caused by you analysising what could happen next or what happened yesterday - living in the past or future. Thinking in the past keeps you attached to situations which may have caused some type of stress within you and thinking in the future keeps you from experiencing the aliveness and beauty within that moment because you are unconsciously trying to control that moment in order not to feel the same stress you unconsciously felt in the past.
You cannot be fully present in the now if some of your attention is on the past or future happenings. This makes it hard for you to connect with the true essence of what you are relating to in that moment and you begin to mentally conceptualise the situation you experience in the moment. When you are predominately mentally identifying within the moment you begin to label and name things or people or feelings you are experiencing within yourself instead of experiencing the true essence of what is around you in that moment.
How Sports people do to it to escape stress and get flow
Do you notice how sporting champions speak of how they just focus on each individual moment to help keep them from feeling the 'pressure'. They focus on bouncing the ball, hitting the ball or kicking the ball in the best body position possible, keeping fully focused on the ball and everything else automatically flows. This gives them freedom from the pressures and stress of the situation and what is happening around them because they are fully present in the moment. Simply witnessing nature helps you to become fully present with the aliveness and beauty of life itself in that moment. You cannot be thinking or feeling anything else in that moment when you are fully connected with how green that grass is or how great that sky looks or how amazing that tree looks.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, being present in nature will help you feel fully alive
Witnessing the aliveness of the natural world helps us connect to aliveness within us which never dims or diminishes even with age. A 100 year old person can feel alive inside by simply witnessing a beautiful garden or a smell of some flowers. This is them connecting to the true life inside them - their spirit. Our spirit will never die, it doesn't feel stress or sickness it doesn't feel anything. It's part of the aliveness that we see in nature. It is part of nature which is in everything. It is us at our essence. So when you witness the aliveness or beauty of something or even someone experiencing their true passion that makes them feel aliveness you are being present with your spirit. Your spirit is always present with the same aliveness that you feel in nature it's that we are not always present with it.
Witness what is happening without analysing it helps you to be present with the true essence of it
We get caught up with things outside of us (even thoughts are outside of us) which we attach to and get consumed in. If we are constantly thinking of what we have to do or what happened or what could happen or even trying to work out what we are witnessing in the moment, all these types of analytical thinking shuts us off from being present with the true beauty in that moment. The more you develop your awareness you will catch yourself not being present and then you can find something within that moment that helps you feel true aliveness again. It might be witnessing the passion someone is expressing in there work or sport (someone else connecting to true alivensess - the nature connection) or it might be a plant near by with really green leafs. It may even be artwork or beautifully made car or bit of furniture. There is a natural essence to everything we witness. Everything comes from nature. By witnessing the natural essence, the aliveness or beauty of what we are realting to in the moment, we are connected to nature.
