Hi I’m Shaun and I coach people how to Re-Nature themselves. Re-Naturing is a process of reconnecting your mind and body to nature. This can help with so many of the physical and mental challenges we face today with our well-being. I am so passionate in what I do because I personally know how much Re-Naturing helps in all aspects of life. Through one-on-one or group coaching sessions, I will guide you through simple yet powerful exercises to help you Re-Nature yourself. I promise you, that you will notice a change very soon: you will be calmer, more in tune with yourself and you will feel so much better! I act as a sounding board for any questions you may have along the journey and I am also there to provide some accountability to keep you on track. I provide in-person coaching in the Geelong/Surfcoast or Melbourne area or online coaching if you are further away.
Medical science is gaining interest in the health benefits of nature connection and how it is a fundamental part of our well-being. Recent scientific research suggests that nature connection practices are integral for our well-being and health authorities like the World Health Organization Europe have issued reports that support this (READ HERE). Certain countries like Japan have nature connection programs as part of their national health program. Nature Connection seems to significantly mitigate the root cause of a multitude of ailments: stress. Excess stress can play a role in headaches, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, skin conditions, asthma, and arthritis, among many other ailments. Excess stress can also increase the risk of anxiety, depression, heart disease, weight gain, and memory and concentration impairment.
Today we quite often push through the bodily signs of excess stress unknowingly, instead of listening to these signs and being guided by them. If we are constantly ignoring the signs and not dealing with the excess stress, our bodies think that we must be in some kind of survival mode. In survival mode, our body is scanning for threats to our well-being instead of using our energy for the bodily processes that keep our well-being in check. Our sympathetic nervous activity increases as well making us more jumpy, easily agitated, our minds more cluttered and we become a lot more reactive, less in control of ourselves. Living like this for too long makes unhealthy habits hard to break or even recognise. Our minds begin to look for quick-fixes to keep us going, more sugar, more caffeine and more alcohol to wind us down. Nature used to help us wind-down when we we’re tuned into it and living with it. Nature used to help us deal with stress better and we will be able to read the signs earlier when connected to it.
Everything will get better the more we connect our mind and body with nature again.
Everything the body does is designed to return itself to a state of natural health and balance. We have this Natural Intelligence within us which helps our bodies to balance itself and to also give us signs that our bodies need us to do something to reduce the stress we at are placing on it. The early we can catch the signs and give our body what it needs, the less affected we will be by unnatural stress and the better our well-being will be! Over these past 10 generations or so we have moved away from our traditional ways of living with nature, and as a result we have lost touch with our Natural Intelligence. So we often miss the early signs of excess stress. I help you to re-connect to your Natural Intelligence so you can read the earlier signs and give your body what it needs to return itself to a natural state of balance again.
