How Nature helps burst our bubble & gain a fresh perspective of our lives - of you.

Without going into all the science and research around the benefits of nature for many different aspects of our health, let's cut to the chase. Getting outside into nature helps us to get outside of ourselves.

So we can see ourselves and our lives from a greater perspective.

In our modern busy lives, it’s very easy to lose ourselves in our own world. Particular the busier and the more demanding our lives become, sometimes our perspective of how good life really is can be become dimmed.

Psychologists often say we create a ‘bubble’ around ourselves by getting so caught up in the ‘doing’ in life and thoughts around our everyday life that we often don’t get a chance to stop and see what our lives, our way of being is doing to us.

Without being aware of how you think and feel within our day-to-day existence, we are essentially letting our subconscious mind live our life for us. Our subconscious will run us on an auto-pilot type of program which has been developed based upon a set of learnt behaviours and beliefs. Some of these learnt behaviours or beliefs about ourselves or life, in general, can be actually sabotaging us or limiting us in a way.

There are possibly a set of subconscious beliefs or way of thinking that might be stopping you from losing weight or keeping in shape, or getting a better job, or preventing you from making decisions to help your life to be easier, more enjoyable and less stressful.

The point is unless you are aware of how you think and feel around different things in your life you can easily be living in a way that is limiting you. Keeping you in a bubble you have created around a set of beliefs and thoughts that may or may not be serving you. Living life like a hamster running in a wheel.

Often what a psychologist or a counsellor will do to help people overcome their problems is to reflect back what you are telling yourself. Help you see the ‘bubble’ you have created for yourself which may be limiting your perspective of something that ‘happened’ to you. When you pull away from your thoughts and feelings around something that has ‘happened’ to you, you can actually see things in a different light and often feel a lot better about that experience.

Creating a greater awareness of yourself helps you to pull out of the ‘bubble’ from yourself so you can see that a lot of things in your mind you have got caught up in maybe consuming you or draining you. You can start to see how you view of your life is affecting the way your feeling, your well-being and how you might be putting yourself under unnecessary stress or hardship. 

But to pull out of your ‘bubble’ can be challenging to do when you are consumed by your everyday way of being, in the busyness of life. In our modern way of living it can be very hard to switch off, not to consumed within our bubble we have created. Even when we are not working, just relaxing we still can be very much engaged with our constant habits of thought or engaged in some other stimulating device or book or activity that still really doesn’t allow us to reflect.

Nature can help you get out of the ‘bubble’. 

Research has shown how being able to connect with nature helps to shift us into a much more relaxed and appreciative state-of-being. Being in a state-of-appreciation, helps you to gain a greater perspective of your life. Become more optimistic in your way of thinking, let you see all the possibilities of life and ways to overcome your challenges. Essentially pulling you out of your self-created bubble so you can actually see the bigger picture
